BrookStar Music publishes most of the songs for Ken Shelton Music.

The name has special significance to me. I believe that, just as Biblical names have meaning, we should attach special meaning to our endeavors. My father, born in the mountains of Kentucky, was named is Burnis Estile Shelton. When I was young, our family would take trips to my parent’s hometown. I marveled at the mountains and valleys. But especially at the brooks, streams and lakes of the South. Watching water come from a rock was like a Biblical revelation. I was also stunned at the clarity of the stars from atop the mountains. Later, doing research, I discovered that my dad’s name reflected those very things. Burnis means brook, and Estile means star. Thus, BrookStar Music was born.
